The Arrowhead Lodge was "going green" before "going green" was cool.  It started at the very beginning when the Arrowhead was largely built with recycled wood in the early sixties.  And it didn't stop there, as we recently installed an eco-friendly hot water system that minimizes energy consumption.  We are always looking for ways to reduce, reuse and/or recycle in our day-to-day operations.  We also try to utilize local products whenever possible to reduce our impact on the environment.  

Our business model has always sought to minimized our impact on the environment as God's handy work is what people come to Red River for! 

Some of our green initiatives include:

·         Compact fluorescent light bulbs

·         Green cleaning agents

·         Reuse of towels (at guests option)

·         Paper bags for recycling

All of the proceeds from the recycling effort go to a local animal rescue group.  This local group of volunteers pick-up strays, get them spayed/neutered and find homes for them.  They also pick-up hurt or run over animals and get them vet care.  This is a really great cause and we feel very blessed to be able to support them.
